INITIATIVES

Tata Steel’s Low Relaxation Pre-stressed Concrete (LRPC) strands are used in windmills and nuclear power plants. Tata Structura hollow sections are lightweight, seismic-resistant and used in largescale ground-mounted solar array.

Tata Steel Nederland provides durable light gauge steel frames for solar panels suitable for both ground and rooftop installation and built to withstand diverse weather conditions.

Tata Steel secured 379 MW of round-the-clock hybrid wind-solar capacity through Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL). This is expected to increase the renewable share in Tata Steel India's power mix from 2.4% in FY2025-26 to 6.4% by FY2026-27.

Installed 59 MWp of rooftop and floating solar capacity across sites such as Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar. Commissioned a 19.2 MW solar plant at Kalinganagar. Expanded solar installations at warehouses, stockyards, steel processing centres, and mining locations.

Tata Steel’s first scrap-based Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) in India at Ludhiana, Punjab operates with approximately 50% renewable energy.

In FY25, Tata Steel Thailand invested in Solar projects at all 3 sites with total capacity 11 MWp, resulting in significant increase of solar utilisation.

We have set up a 3 MW solar power plant at Noamundi, Jharkhand – the first for an iron ore mine in the country. The solar photovoltaic power plant helps reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 3,000 tonnes annually.
